Job Title: Building Automation Assistant Controls Project Manager

Summary
We seek a highly skilled and motivated Building Automation Assistant Controls Project Manager to join our team in Manassas, VA. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering and a passion for leading building automation projects. You will assist in managing the design, installation, and commissioning of control systems for commercial buildings, including HVAC, lighting, and other integrated systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the lead project manager in overseeing the design, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC, lighting, and security controls.
Work closely with engineers to review and modify system designs, ensuring efficient integration of BACnet, DDC controls, and other control protocols.
Collaborate with subcontractors, electricians, and mechanical teams to coordinate the installation and programming of control systems such as Tridium Niagara, ALC, Johnson Controls Metasys, Schneider Electric, and other leading platforms.
Use AutoCAD and Visio to produce accurate control schematics and layouts, ensuring clarity in system designs.
Assist in maintaining project documentation, including schedules, material orders, and change orders. Ensure timely updates and communication with all stakeholders.
Qualifications???????
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in building automation systems or controls, with a stable work history in the mechanical construction sector.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. An EIT or PE license is a plus but not required.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, and control system protocols such as BACnet and DDC. Familiarity with leading automation systems like Tridium Niagara, Distech, ALC, Alerton, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Schneider Electric.
Previous experience with installing, grating, or programming building automation systems in commercial or industrial settings.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with project teams, clients, and contractors.
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of local codes and regulations for commercial mechanical construction in Virginia.
