Key Responsibilities:
Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using NX design software.
Design and develop gearboxes, gearing systems, and associated components for automotive and heavy-duty vehicle applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers, to ensure design specifications and performance requirements are met.
Work on aluminum structures and cast iron components for both lightweight and heavy-duty applications.
Perform tolerance analysis, stack-ups, and other detailed design tasks to ensure the accuracy and manufacturability of parts.
Ensure that all designs comply with relevant industry standards and company guidelines.
Assist with the preparation of technical documentation, including design reports, drawings, and material specifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
5+ years of experience working with Siemens NX design software.
Strong understanding of shafts, bearings, gears, and structural members
Experience designing die castings, sand casting, stampings, and machined components, especially in automotive or heavy truck.
Knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.
Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and machining practices.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with FEA simulations and structural analysis.
Knowledge of powertrain systems and automotive applications.
Familiarity with casting and machining processes for aluminum and cast-iron components.
Experience in prototype development and testing.
