Implements corporate environmental policies to comply with CUPA, OSHA, EPA, or other environmental and safety requirements.
The Environmental Site Managers support, manage and audit environmental compliance at AT&T facilities. Environmental Site Managers (ESMs) conduct comprehensive site audits at AT&T facilities and escort CA Regulatory Agency Inspectors within their area of assignment.
Ensures adherence to government regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety standards.
May also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations where applicable.
May implement hazardous waste control and disposal activities including training, collection, disposal, and records maintenance, as well as conservation programs within the organization.
Conducts audits (Environmental Site Assessments-ESAs) and recommends corrective action where environmental compliance risks exist.
Completes required federal, state, and local government reports relating to environmental, health or safety issues. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Environmental Requirements: This position also contributes to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
The Environmental Site Manager needs to be able to climb stairs/ladders and walk extensively while conducting audits in the field. The ESM job requires driving an AT&T company vehicle to regularly attend AT&T facilities that they maintain/support within their area to enforce/support EH&S policies, complete job tasks and escort California Agency Inspectors. The Environmental Site Manager spends approximately 70% of the work week in the field and 30% in the office.
You must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle records check to be considered for this position.
Education: Typically HS Diploma or equivalent is needed.
Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years relevant experience in area of responsibility.
Supervisory: No.
Certifications: Relevant environmental certifications (e.g., Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), HAZWOPER, etc.) are preferred.
Desired Qualification
Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
