Job Description:

We're seeking a CAD Engineering Technician to work with a major Oil and Gas company on a long-term contract basis.

Responsibilities
  • This position will focus on supporting the daily operations of the company's Technical Services department, driving projects forward, evaluating equipment, and improving efficiency through technical assessments.
  • You will collaborate with various team members, apply technical knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the department.
  • Collaborate with engineers/contractors to develop accurate and precise drawings
  • Modify existing drawings as needed to meet project requirements
  • Ensure drawings adhere to industry/company standards and regulations
  • Review and analyze drawings for errors or inconsistencies
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and periodic reports to support ongoing Facilities operations and projects.
  • Assist the engineering coordinator in maintaining the repository for company engineering standards.
  • Use multiple data sources, both internal and external, to make informed recommendations for project improvements.
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and apply sound judgment to technical challenges.
  • Coordinate activities with other team members to ensure seamless collaboration and project execution.
  • Incorporate the input of others to present clear, data-driven recommendations that align with the department's goals.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with 5 or more years of relevant experience or B.S., B.A. degree in Engineering, IT, Mathematics, or Science.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, minimum 5 years required
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and practices
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in data analysis, trending, and monitoring performance metrics (e.g., KPIs).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently assess and resolve issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant technical software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to take initiative and maintain a high level of technical expertise through continuous learning.
  • Any experience within Petroleum Industry is a benefit
  • Experience with 3-D modeling is a benefit
  • Experience with facilities equipment evaluation and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with construction or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in Facilities operations.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu software is preferred (not required).
