Metric is seeking a highly experienced Transmission and Substation Engineering Director to lead an engineering team in Houston, TX. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the engineering design, development, and implementation of transmission and substation projects.
Manage a team of engineers and technical staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
Develop and enforce engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met within budget and on schedule.
Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with transmission and substation projects.
Manage the development of technical reports, proposals, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
PE Licence (necessary).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in transmission and substation engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of electrical transmission systems, substations, and related equipment.
Proven experience managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with utility companies or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, including ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, NEC, NESC, and others.
