We are working with a relatively new game studio in California to find a Lead Engine Programmer with a passion for gaming and empowering content creators to deliver cutting-edge experiences. The team are working on a very ambitious AAA title and looking for someone with passion for doing things at the highest standard to join the team.
Responsibilities:
Lead and collaborate with a core technology team to develop and optimize engine systems, focusing on performance.
Manage schedules and backlogs in partnership with design, production, and engineering leadership.
Establish and validate engine system budgets and pipeline tools.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the engineering team.
Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and fostering a positive team culture.
Refactor systems to manage large worlds with dynamic content.
Utilize profiling tools to identify and resolve performance issues (CPU/GPU).
Continuously improve systems to achieve cutting-edge solutions.
Essential Skills:
9+ years of professional game programming experience, including work on at least one shipped AAA title.
Expertise in C++, debugging, and 3D mathematics.
Strong understanding of PC/console hardware bottlenecks and optimization strategies.
Experience in multithreaded programming and game console hardware.
Strong leadership and management skills, with experience mentoring and leading teams.
Deep knowledge of engine systems like physics, streaming, and audio.
