Job Description:

The Director of Public Safety Technology is responsible for the direction of the Law Enforcement Technology, Public Safety Communications Services and Physical Security Technology divisions.

Looking for more of a radio & tower network/(LMR) Land, mobile & radio network engineer that has moved up into management.

This role is for public safety technology for emergency services and the client is looking for someone with a lot of experience in radio & tower networks/(LMR) Land, mobile & radio, and this person needs to have a good understanding ofmaintenance and repairing of electronics such as radios, communications switches, Land Mobile Radios (LMR), towers, repeaters and antennas.

You will be the director responsible for the LMR for emergency services for the Houston area. A background in Network Engineering and responsibility for radio maintenance and repairing of electronics such as radios, communications switches, Land Mobile Radios (LMR), towers, repeaters and antennas is a must.

MUST HAVE: Incident Command, Emergency Management, Land Mobile Radio, Mobile Radio, Operational Planning.

Required Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Master's preferred.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • The ability to interact with staff at all levels. Strong knowledge of personal computers and various software. Knowledge of public safety, emergency preparedness and risk management.
  • FEMA certified. Proficient in incident command system (ICS) protocols.
  • Must posses extensive knowledge of the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) maintenance and repairing of electronics such as radios, communications switches, Land Mobile Radios (LMR), towers, repeaters and antennas.
  • HAM Operator licensed strongly desired.
  • Typically has 15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems life-cycle management and infrastructure planning and operations, with 8 years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
