As Superintendent, you will be playing a critical role in construction of novel battery chemical plant(s) near Corpus Christi, TX. You will be a main coordinator of field operations and will need to work cross-functionally, interfacing with general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturing and construction engineering while driving a project's schedule and budgets.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for field construction operations within assigned discipline or area.
Create and drive project schedules, solving critical paths and communicating roadblocks
Determines workforce requirements. Coordinates established area operational plans. Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed and cleanliness expectations
Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Approves craft time records using established automated tools.
Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas to ensure seamless integration and execution of work.
Employ a can-do attitude, quickly working through challenges with all stakeholders while proactively seeking creative solutions
Schedule and lead quality control and site safety inspections.
Facilitate inspections with AHJs to ensure timely use spaces and systems
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants)
Mechanical Focus
Come from the trade: a ton of experience with a variety of mechanical systems - pumps, fans, pressors, chillers, boilers, sawmills, compressed air system, high pressure steam boiler
Millwright
Lifting and setting heavy equipment, rotating equipment
Previous experience on $500M+ projects
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a must
Contractor side experience, out in the field
Industrial, refinery, oil and gas industry background
Ability to read, interpret, and manage changes to:
Architectural and finish plans and specifications.
Framing and wall type details.
Mechanical and electrical, instrumentation and controls systems
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and scheduling software (Microsoft Projects) able to identify and implement the best method to communicate or plan a project and scopes
Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed to complete objectives or find the correct information.
Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
