Responsibilities:
My client, a Northern, VA based Defense Contractor, provides global Wide Area Networks for government customers. These top-secret positions provide critical support to National Priority programs. They are looking for Experienced and Junior Network Engineers as they grow their team.
The ideal candidate will have core competences in network engineering and experience with enterprise grade Cisco and Juniper routers and switches. This individual will have familiarity with designing, configuring, and troubleshooting MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and other core WAN protocols within a service provider architecture.
Perform network equipment installation, cutover, testing, and site acceptance.
Work with customer personnel to isolate and resolve complex network problems.
Ensure complete cutover of network functionality.
Strong desire to learn and grow in the network engineering industry.
Sound technical experience in assessing network support requirements as well as conducting required administrative tasks required for the projects.
Demonstrated ability to approach job responsibilities with a focus on process improvement.
Able to work and effectively communicate with different levels of management.
Unconditional integrity and commitment to achieving goals.
Qualifications:
Two (2) or more years of experience with enterprise network design, installation, and troubleshooting.
At least one (1) year of experience with MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, GRE, and VPN design and configuration.
CCNA or JNCIA-Junos certification required.
Must be willing to travel up to 60% (both CONUS and OCONUS).
Excellent customer facing skills.
Must be able to obtain and/or maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements:
The work is performed in an office environment and is primarily sedentary in nature. The individual will be required to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time and alternate between different stationary positions. The individual must also be able to move about the office at times. This position requires the ability to communicate frequently. This position may occasionally require the ability to ascend stairs, reach, stoop, kneel, lift light to medium objects, view and operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment and to withstand moderate noise and temperatures.
This position does require travel between various customer sites, in addition to travel for network installations, customer meetings, and other government and/or contractual needs.
