Position Overview: The Director of Traffic Engineering is responsible for leading the department as whole, across the entire organization. This individual will provide technical expertise as well as oversee business development and project management throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise the daily activities of the Traffic Engineering department.
Ensure all engineering projects and initiatives are completed on schedule.
Staff the traffic engineering division by hiring and developing performance plans.
Evaluate existing and proposed traffic engineering projects, develop and implement solutions to traffic engineering problems, and coordinate project activities with other departments.
Department Directors are also responsible for generating and implementing company business plans by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in different regional markets or clientele.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or greater) in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Civil Engineering.
Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification or ability to obtain.
Experience working with state and/or local Department of Transportation (DOT) and/or Department of Public Works (DPW) agencies.
Experience with traffic analysis software and other traffic engineering related software.
