Hiring for a fast-growing industrial automation and systems integration company seeking a Project Manager to lead and motivate teams of engineers and technicians in the design and construction of custom-engineered automation equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various factory automation systems and thrive in a collaborative environment. Critical thinking, superior problem-solving abilities, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

This is an exempt position reporting to the General Manager, with compensation commensurate with experience. Remote work options are available, although occasional travel is expected.

Responsibilities:
  • Enhance our brand as a customer-focused company by delivering exceptional service and timely responses.
  • Develop project schedules, assign responsibilities, and monitor budgets to ensure on-time, on-budget project completion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, effectively communicating any changes between the customer and project team.
  • Collaborate with the engineering department to monitor the progress of specialized engineering work and address customer-requested changes.
  • Work cross-functionally to manage the development, evaluation, approval, and implementation of automation equipment designs.
  • Oversee product construction and testing to ensure efficient and effective project completion.
  • Manage the balance between quoted equipment and the customer's evolving needs to minimize scope creep.
  • Collaborate with procurement to understand how potential supply chain issues may impact project schedules.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience managing projects valued between $50,000 and $5 million.
  • Proficient in Project Management methods and processes.
  • Experience in managing and communicating project financials.
  • Background in industrial automation, with knowledge of robotics and machinery design preferred.
  • Strong fundamental engineering knowledge; a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with standard automation machine elements (e.g., bearings, gearboxes, timing belts, servos, pneumatic actuators).
  • Knowledge of common electrical components (e.g., sensors, motors, PLCs, HMIs) and industrial control systems.
  • Understanding of robotic suppliers and robotic systems.
  • Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
  • Management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or equipment design/build environment.
  • A friendly, approachable nature with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and individuals.
