Job Title: Lead Data Scientist (Temporary Position)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to join the Big Data and Advanced Analytics department. As part of the Data Analytics team, the Lead Data Scientist will collaborate with the Data Engineering team and business functions to address real-world oil and gas midstream challenges using machine learning, data science algorithms, and artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
Work independently on optimization projects across multiple business functions.
Identify and frame optimization opportunities by understanding business problems.
Gather, cleanse, and transform internal and external data for analysis.
Analyze data and provide insights through visualizations and dashboards.
Develop, productionize, and maintain models/solutions to address business issues.
Present, explain, and defend results from analyses and modeling approaches.
Participate in strategic planning discussions regarding optimizations, data science, and big data analytics.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience framing and solving optimization problems in supply chain, logistics, or operations.
5+ years of hands-on experience with applied statistics, math, and optimization techniques.
Expertise in optimization techniques such as numerical optimization, linear programming, nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, integer programming, numerical methods, or heuristic methods.
Proficiency in programming with Python.
Experience with tools like Google OR Tools, Scipy. nOptimize, CPLEX, Gurobi, GAMS, LINGO, Pyomo, MATLAB, Arena, and Vensim.
Experience building solutions in AWS is a plus.
Educational background in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and communicate complex insights in a simple, actionable manner.
Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
