We are seeking a skilled IT Network and Desktop Admin with extensive network administration to join our dynamic team.Position Summary: The IT Network Admin will be responsible for overseeing the company's IT infrastructure, managing company software and hardware assets, and ensuring the reliability and security of our network. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead the IT department and work with external consultants.Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration:
Design, implement, and maintain the company's network infrastructure and hardware.
Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining firewall, VPN, and antivirus solutions.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Manage network hardware and software, including servers, routers, switches, and other network devices.
Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
Troubleshooting issues, outages, and providing technical support to employees
Creating and managing systems permissions and user accounts
Performing regular security testing and security monitoring to ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
Upgrade systems with new releases and models
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users
Ability to add, create, modify or delete user accounts, file permissions
Workstation support
System and user documentation
Experience with helpdesk tickets & work order documentation
IT Leadership:
Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends.
Be a true business partner leading IT initiatives with world class internal customer service.
Project Management:
Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects from conception to completion.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Develop project plans, timelines, and status reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management and network administration.
Proven experience as a Desktop Support Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and security.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+).
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN) and patch management
Knowledge of system security and Veritas data backup/recovery
Scripting
Familiarity with Server 2016, 2019, and Hyper-V Clustering. Windows 10, 11 desktops
Windows Active Directory
Microsoft Exchange Server experience
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) knowledge and experience
Familiarity with Windows Server 2019, Windows 10, 11 desktops
Windows Active Directory
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles.
Experience in the manufacturing sector and ITAR regulations and security.
BSc/Ba in Information Technology a plus, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification is a plus
Security training is a plus
