Job Description:

Position Summary: The Director of Training will be responsible for creating and managing all aspects of the training division, driving the culture within the Residential and Executive protection team, and ensuring excellence in tactical preparedness, professionalism, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This is a director-level role that requires leadership in a fast-paced, startup environment, where you'll wear multiple hats and manage budgets, vendor relations, and contracts, all while fostering a proactive approach to training and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and Grow the Training Division:
  • Establish and drive the development of the company's training division from the ground up, ensuring it supports the overall goals of Black Box Security.
  • Build a training culture focused on professionalism, tactical expertise, physical fitness, and adherence to company standards.
  • Design and implement training programs covering classroom instruction, situational simulations, on-site scenario training, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Conduct training for both agents and administrative staff, as well as external groups when needed. Identify qualified external instructors, review their curricula for approval, and integrate them into the training program.
  • Administer and record physical fitness exams for agents, ensuring they meet the required qualifications.
  • Oversee tactical training, firearms certifications, and first aid training, ensuring all personnel are fully equipped for their roles.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Development:
  • Collaborate with leadership to create and refine SOPs based on industry best practices.
  • Ensure team members are aligned with the latest SOPs and implement training on these standards.
  • Regularly assess and ensure that agents maintain the highest standards of appearance, professional work attire, and overall presentation.
  • Conduct site visits and quality assurance reviews to confirm compliance with SOPs and identify areas for improvement.

Training Coordination & Scheduling
  • Develop and publish a comprehensive training calendar, scheduling ongoing training sessions for firearms, tactical skills, first aid, and other necessary certifications.
  • Coordinate training events with field agents, ensuring seamless scheduling that integrates with their operational duties.

Vendor & Resource Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, certified instructors, and business owners to secure training venues and resources.
  • Manage contracts and negotiations with training vendors, ensuring quality while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee training-related budgets, manage vendor contracts, and ensure cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed on the latest industry trends, tools, and training methodologies.

Program Ownership & Innovation
  • Take full ownership of the training program, constantly looking for ways to improve and proactively presenting solutions to challenges.
  • Provide weekly/monthly updates to the CEO on training progress, upcoming initiatives, and any issues or successes.
  • Evaluate products and services as requested by the CEO to ensure alignment with operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with BSIS (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services) regulations and other relevant certifications by working closely with the Human Resources department.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a training and leadership role within the security industry, with a strong background in residential security or executive protection.
  • Extensive knowledge of tactical, physical, and security training methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in building training programs from the ground up.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to foster a positive, high-performance team culture.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relations, and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a startup environment.
  • Familiarity with BSIS regulations and industry compliance requirements.

Preferred Skills:
  • Certifications in relevant security or training programs (PPS, EP, etc.).
  • Background in law enforcement, military, or high-level residential security operations.
  • Proven ability to implement innovative training strategies and solutions.

Pay Range: $140,000 - $160,000 annually
