A Day in the Life of the Wellness Trainer
As a Wellness Trainer, you'll engage with YMCA members to help them develop personalized fitness plans, perform fitness evaluations, and provide exercise guidance. You'll maintain a clean and safe environment, contribute to member retention, and be part of a team that encourages healthy lifestyles and fitness goals. You will also recommend personal training sessions and coach new staff in best practices.
Responsibilities include:
Scheduling fitness appointments and evaluations
Providing support and answers to member questions on wellness and exercise programs
Building relationships with members to encourage fitness progress
Ensuring fitness equipment is clean and safe for use
Recommending personal training sessions and fitness plans for members
Assisting in recruiting and training new fitness trainers
Requirements and Qualifications:
Personal Training Certification
CPR with AED certification within 60 days of hire
At least one year of experience in fitness, wellness, or personal training
Able to work ONSITE
Availability for shifts to match the facility's operating hours of 5:15am - 8:45pm
