Kirby Bates Associates has been exclusively retained by Valley Health System, Inc., Holyoke Medical Center, to lead a national search for their next Executive Director, Perioperative Services. Holyoke Medical Center (HMC) is a 219-bed facility with over 1,600 employees and 330 physicians. Surgical specialties include Orthopedics, Spine, Vascular, Bariatric and General Surgery.
The Executive Director, Perioperative Services (Executive Director) will provide operational oversight and participate in strategic planning at the service line, facility, and system level. The Executive Director will manage the delivery of safe and effective nursing care, gather statistical data for the purpose of forecasting and strategic planning, and collaborate with surgeons to facilitate efficient operations and scheduling for Perioperative Services.
The Executive Director will have oversight for 10 ORs, 2 ENDO suites, PreOp, PACU, Medical Day Stay, Special Procedures/IR, and Central Sterile. Permanent Charge Nurses support each department. The Executive Director is responsible for a total of 81 FTEs and 10,200 surgeries/procedures annually. The incumbent will also have oversight of operational and capital budgets as well as quality metrics and staff/patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Master's degree preferred.
Current or eligible for RN license in MA.
Current CPR and ACLS certification.
Strong financial acumen.
Minimum of five years of contemporary leadership experience or service line leadership experience in perioperative services.
Proven experience improving OR scheduling, on time starts and turnaround times.
