Apex Systems is hiring a SCADA Engineer in the Golden, CO area!
This position is designated as a hybrid position.
Project Scope:
This resource is needed to support our team with construction projects. This resource will be assigned to work on construction projects as part of our database and display group.
Day to Day:
Working with team lead who would assign tasks pertaining to upcoming construction projects. Some examples of tasks may be building a new RTU from scratch within the database or creating some points.
This resource will also work with field technicians on the requirements.
Resource would also be expected to attend the weekly team meetings, held each Monday.
In addition, this resource will be building displays in the schedule system; RTU's, transformers, breakers.
A typical requirement this resource would work on involves replacing an old RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) with a new one for a construction project. The process starts with the team lead attending project meetings with project managers to gather all necessary information, such as the charge codes and project details.
During the weekly Monday meeting, the team lead assigns this task to the resource. The resource's responsibility is to ensure that the new RTU installation follows the company's guidelines. They use an internal system, SI Tracker, to track project progress.
The task includes building the new RTU from scratch, following a template provided, and ensuring all components are completed. Once the task is complete, there is a sign-off process involving a meeting with field engineers.
After the sign-off, the field engineers handle the live implementation.
If additional assistance is needed, the resource may continue working with the internal database team or the field engineers.
Experience needed:
3-7 years of experience with SCADA systems.
Display experience using AutoCAD or similar- MUST HAVE
ICCP (Inter-control Center Communications Protocol) experience- real time exchange system that allows 2 control centers to send data
XA-21 exp.
Experience in Utilities, power grid, real time planning
Technologies: GE XA-21 Project DEMS, SCADA. Display building/Designing software like AUTOCAD.
Certs: HS Diploma minimum+, Bachelors in Electrical Eng or other engineer with experience nice to have but not req.
Pluses: Snyder Electric systems exp, GE exp, Project management skills- communication is key, project updates from start to finish, sign off with field technicians. Not needing PMP certs just having the skills to manage projects from end to end. Prior compliance experience such as NERC CIP
