Job Description:

SUMMARY

Under general direction, the Quality Engineer will perform a variety of highly technical tasks and project management duties to expand the company's production and manufacturing process capabilities. It also maintains supervisory responsibilities for the design, control and calibration of test fixtures, harness boards, jigs, testing/tooling equipment and documented work instructions. Responsible for the initial quality engineering of projects, interfacing with clients regarding quality issues and supporting engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing. May provide advanced technical guidance to junior staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide responses based on root cause analysis for quality issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests.
  • Lead process improvement team activities to resolve any quality problems and improve yield for products.
  • Analyze quality trends and perform root cause analysis.
  • Develop process improvements for incoming inspections such as Dock to Stock products and supplier issues which ultimately lead to the reduction and elimination of inspection for "high yield" products.
  • Perform and assit Supplier, Internal, and customer audits.
  • Analize data from NCRs, RMA and Reworks in order to improve process and to reduce Cost of porr Quality.
  • Perform specs, standars and technical data review to underastand complaince with customers requests.
  • Create, design and develop QA/QC manuals, procedures and work instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • The ability to communicate technically with management, sales, client service engineers, vendors, and clients

  • BS Degree in Engineering or related field. Or 5+ years in Quality in a manufacturing facility.
  • 5+ years experience in design and development of QA/QC manuals, procedures and work instructions
  • 5+ year experience as Lead auditor.
  • 5+ year experience with Quality Tools.
  • 5+ years experience in inspection, evaluation, measuring equipment, testing processes and procedures
  • 5+ years experience in Advanced Quality Planning
  • Knowledgeable in LEAN concepts, Data Flow methodology and Lead Quality system auditor for ISO 9001:2015 standards
  • Experience with GAGETRAK , QMS and manufacturing software
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
