JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Purchasing Coordinator executes the day-to-day ordering and securing of inventory and equipment needed to build our camera and solar systems (55%). They are also responsible for Engineering Changer control activities (15%). In addition, the role supports the Receiving department by helping unload trucks as well as checking in and breaking down returned cameras (25%). The Purchasing Coordinator also learns basic Logistics to support when staffing requires it (5%).

You will:
  • Maintain a high level of organization for inventory purchasing
  • Specify and order correct components at correct pricing and quantity.
  • Learn the technology, components and electrical parts of the product to effectively identify alternate components if necessary
  • Establish clear communication with suppliers and OxBlue team members with a focus on customer service and regular updates
  • Obtain multiple quotes as needed
  • Use Acumatica to maintain records of buys, updates, and confirmations of purchase orders
  • Create, distribute, and obtain promise dates for all Open POs per key supplier every month
  • Validate current lead times for suppliers on a quarterly basis
  • Support Accounts Payable in addressing issues that might impact supplier payments
  • Provide daily updates to Production on any problem parts that have been identified in all operation activities
  • Act as primary materials POC, ensuring right materials on order, and support new product initial purchases
  • Work with Engineering to create parts and bills of material and perform ongoing maintenance - using rules to determine when to use revs vs require new parts.
  • Assist other logistics activities as needed based on materials staffing
  • Help unload trucks, camera check-in and breakdown and work in the clean area as needed. Note: This usually is at least 3 hours a day where physical activity is required

You have:
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both vendors and OxBlue team members
  • Capability to multi-task and develop organizational material to help maintain Purchasing data
  • Sharp learning skills that help you quickly understand technology and electrical products, including characteristics and differences

Bonus points for:
  • Experience with Bills of Material and Engineering Change Management in a production environment
  • ERP experience
  • Purchasing experience
