Overview:

Our client is an established manufacturing company that supplies their technology to clients in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and industrial sectors worldwide.

Due to their continued growth, they require the services of a HSE Manager to be based in their Houston, TX facility.

Please note that our client is searching for candidates with a manufacturing background, ideally within the oil and gas equipment or automotive sectors. They are located close to IAH, and require candidates to be onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve HSE objectives and targets through proactive, timely and effective approach and ownership, creating and sustaining a safe, healthy and environmentally compliant workplace and culture
  • Key member of the QHSE and Trade Compliance team who provides leadership and supports other functional areas in US and global HSE, manages and improves US and company-wide HSE programs, mitigates HSE compliance risk while continuously developing the HSE culture and streamlining HSE processes developing and implementing other related programs as required.
  • Proactive and effective development, implementation, management, administration and maintenance of the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and in alignment with policies, objectives and goals
  • Takes the lead and proactively engages applicable supervisors and managers to address HSE concerns timely, effectively and with a high sense of urgency

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' practical experience as a HSE Manager developing, implementing and managing HSE programs in a manufacturing facility; 8+ years of progressive experience working within Health and Safety
  • Bachelor of Science degree is required. Specialization in Occupational Safety or Health, Safety Engineering, Safety Science, or Environmental Health is preferred.
  • Experience with U.S. and Texas legislation/regulations applicable for HSE; Strong knowledge of EPA, DHS, OSHA and other safety regulations
  • Experience with management systems compliant to standards OHSAS 18001 (or ISO 45001) and ISO 14001•
  • Experience performing Internal workshop/site audits and HSE management system audits; Lead Auditor according to ISO 19011 preferred
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry and related HSE information exchange platforms, such as ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.
  • Effective leader, mentor, and coach who thinks strategically and is effective tactically
