Job Description:
The IBM Mainframe Platform Administrator is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the mainframe environment, ensuring its stability, security, and performance. This role involves collaborating with development teams to integrate applications with the mainframe and implementing robust security measures using RACF to protect resources. Key tasks include managing dataset profile changes, RACF group adjustments, and assisting with audit requests. The administrator also maintains detailed documentation on configurations and procedures, while generating regular reports on system health, performance, and security. In addition, the administrator handles maintenance updates, patches, and version upgrades for the mainframe environment. They resolve incidents related to performance, errors, and outages, and collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot complex issues. This role also includes coordinating backup and disaster recovery strategies and testing recovery procedures to ensure data integrity, ensuring the mainframe remains secure and reliable for business operations.
