Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Hardware Development Engineer for our Lenexa office in the Greater Kansas City Area. You will be responsible for designing electronic circuits and digital systems for next generation avionics test equipment, and radio test equipment.

• Responsible for the design and development of analog and digital hardware systems that include high performance ADC and DAC interfaces, audio, switching power supplies and peripheral products.


• Will work with designs that support high performance RF transceivers and digital subsystems.

• Proficient with using general test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).


• Design test boards or fixtures to aid in board bring-up and PCBA testing


• Basic scripting capabilities to support small test fixtures and evaluation of critical components.


• Research and select components to meet electrical engineering design needs


• Test designed circuits and document the test results.


• Find technical root cause and suggest corrective action for given problems


• Provide estimates on level of effort for design projects and execute designs to meet development schedules.


• Evaluate new options of similar technology. offer suggestions to improve processes and provide comments and suggestions in design reviews.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSCE (Master’s degree a plus), or equivalent experience.


• 2+ years of hardware design experience, 5+ years preferred.


• Proficient in using ECAD tools such as Cadence or Mentor Graphics


• Experience with designs using switching power supplies, ADC’s, DAC’s and FPGA’s.


• Excellent communication skills required.


• Experience with power and signal integrity simulation, synthesis, place-and-route tools preferred.


• Experience with RF systems, avionics, communications or test equipment design preferred.
