Position Summary
Applies a deep understanding of strategy and its associated tools and processes to set strategic direction and prioritize competing priorities in partnership with senior leadership. Drives the adoption of strategy across the organization, building internal and external partnerships to accelerate ERIE's ability to bring mature a continuous strategy process. Iterates and adapts elements of the enterprise strategy system with speed, nimbleness, flexibility, and a strong comfort with ambiguity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leads cross Enterprise teams of senior leaders and executives to envision, develop, and align on highly complex strategies that provide clarity and focus at the Enterprise level.
Builds productive, collaborative relationships with senior leaders across the executive team with an eye to enabling a strategic, Enterprise-focused, and customer-centric mindset.
Drives cross-team collaboration using a high EQ/political acumen as a change agent and influencer across teams toward strategic alignment and prioritization.
Earn and retain a "seat at the table" by building the trust and confidence of senior leadership, quickly understanding the operational specifics of the area, and making cross-enterprise connections.
Maintains and fosters a strong understanding of enterprise strategy and connection with measurable outcomes (e.g., KPIS, OKRs, etc.) ensuring strategic alignment across the enterprise and signaling the need for a refresh when changes occur.
Translates complex topics / data into a clear story and direction, including data visualization and building frameworks often from nothing.
Identifies strategic gaps and influences senior leaders to develop solutions of mutual benefit to the business area and the enterprise.
Frames, develops, assesses and maintains cross-Enterprise and key downstream strategies in partnership with executive and senior leadership.
Facilitates integration of strategy into execution plans and alignment of strategic objectives / initiatives with resourcing requirements (e.g., talent, IT, financial).
Synthesizes comprehensive knowledge of market dynamics, emerging risks, and company's internal operations to develop forward-looking focus for the Enterprise.
Provides clear guidance to steer teams comprised of internal and external resources, using deep expertise in strategy.

Identifies open strategic questions, prioritizes, and works cross-functionally to achieve enterprise alignment on answers.
Partners with a cross-functional team to develop, implement, and measure strategy-level communications and change plans.
Plans strategy discussions (e.g., Board, Task Force), coordinate next steps following the discussion, and achieve alignment on messaging in partnership with executive leaders.

Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field such as business, finance, IT, research, etc. and five years of strategy or strategy-related experience, required; or
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, finance, IT, research, etc. and eight years of strategy or strategy-related experience, required.
Demonstrated application of strategic and operational planning concepts required.
Prior experience planning, framing, and facilitating large multi-phase strategic engagements required.
Experience with Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, LEAN, OKRs, etc.) at the enterprise-level preferred.
Knowledge of Change Management techniques preferred.
Consultancy experience or knowledge of the insurance industry preferred.
