Your Role:
The EMD Serono Research and Development Institute in Billerica, MA, is hiring a Senior Associate Scientist within our Target Discovery Research group. The Senior Associate Scientist will be responsible for conducting in vitro experiments, including cell culture, western blots, PCR, as well as overexpression, knockdowns, and CRISPR-based genome editing experiments to facilitate target identification and validation. This role offers a laboratory-based opportunity to contribute to the forefront of cancer research within a research-based drug discovery company.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or other Scientific discipline with 2+ years of experience in aseptic techniques for handling mammalian cultures and/or cancer cell lines

Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or other Scientific discipline with 1+ years of experience in aseptic techniques for handling mammalian cultures and/or cancer cell lines
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques, including cell line maintenance, transfection, and selection of edited clones
Hands-on expertise with gene-editing techniques (RNAi, CRISPR)
Strong skills in molecular biology techniques, such as western blotting, PCR, and cloning
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience with cell microscopy, Incucyte live cell imaging, or other high content cell image analysis instrumentation
Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad PRISM for documenting experimental procedures and results in an Electronic Lab Notebook
The ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic environment
