Position Summary

The Market Manager, Proposal Development will support our Business Unit Leaders and Project Executives by overseeing and managing the process of creating and submitting proposals for all new project opportunities within the Food & Beverage Market. They will work closely with our cross-functional teams, including business development, marketing, project management operations, and market leadership, to develop winning proposals that exemplify Gray’s quality and attention to detail. This role will involve the coordination and curation of all content in our proposal developments, while ensuring the timely submission of best-in-class proposals tailored to the requirements of both project management operations and market leadership.

The new team member is required to have five to ten years of experience in construction management. Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture).

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Collaborate with Business Unit Leaders and Project Executives to understand the operational and financial strategy associated to winning each Project opportunity.
  • Conduct customer specific market research to gather value added information to include within proposal development.
  • Lead the proposal development process from initiation to submission, ensuring adherence to the defined timelines and quality standards, while addressing the unique requirements of both project management operations and market leadership.
  • Create proposal outlines, timeline schedules, and allocate tasks to the proposal development team members, in alignment with Business Unit Leaders.
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with project opportunity stakeholders - i.e. project operations team, design team, and subject matter experts - to gather relevant information, including project specific plans, execution methodologies, resource allocation, schedule approach, and financial approach.
  • Write and edit proposal content, focusing on complimenting the team’s aligned strategy associated to winning each Project opportunity.
  • Review and revise proposals to enhance their persuasiveness, competitiveness, and compliance with customer requirements as it relates to market leadership prior to submission, and customer feedback upon initial submission.
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions to ensure effective communication and coordination among team members throughout the proposal development process.
  • Seek input from project opportunity stakeholders in all aspects of the proposal. Specifically addressing the technical design, financial, operational, and strategic communication aspects within the proposal.
  • Prepare visually appealing and professional proposal presentations specifically focused on project management operations and market leadership requirements.
  • Ensure that proposals comply with customer specific requested information.
  • Proofread and edit proposals for grammar, spelling, and formatting errors, while also ensuring alignment with project opportunity stakeholders for terminology and standards.
  • Develop a system for tracking and managing proposal submissions, including version control and document management.
  • Monitor and analyze proposal outcomes from both project management and business unit perspectives, such as project success rates, and strategic alignment, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct post-proposal evaluations in collaboration with project operations teams and Business Unit Leaders to capture lessons learned and enhance the effectiveness of future proposals.
  • Stay updated with industry marketing trends, best practices, and emerging technologies as it relates to proposal development.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements to streamline proposal development workflows specific to market leadership requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management teams, and market leadership to implement process enhancements and optimize proposal development practices to best serve the Food & Beverage Market.
