Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Salary Range: $90,000-115,000

About the Position

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting developing forecasting models, preparing reports, and providing recommendations that drive key business decisions. This role is essential in supporting both short-term and long-term financial planning and performance management.

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis on budgets, forecasts, and actual financial performance. Develop key insights into financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead the preparation and management of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Work closely with partners to ensure accurate financial planning and accountability.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators, for management, board meetings, and other stakeholders.
  • Partner with leadership to provide strategic financial insights that help guide decision-making for programs, services, and operational improvements.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess various business scenarios, evaluate financial impact, and forecast future performance.
  • Support the Mission Advancement team by ensuring financial compliance with grant requirements and preparing financial statements on programs.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of current programs and operational expenditures.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in D365 and Solver systems, including financial reporting, data integrity, and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with teams across the organization, including operations, development, and People & Culture, to provide financial guidance and promote financial literacy within the organization.
  • Promote and uphold safe work practices through awareness, training, and reporting of potential hazards.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive financial analysis experience.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with D365, Solver, and Power BI.
  • Proven ability to analyze large amounts of data and provide actionable insights
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word/PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience in nonprofit accounting is preferred but not required.

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry files or documents weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to review detailed financial documents and computer screens.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, such as typing and using a mouse.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
