Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:


  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Account Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for property portfolios

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to management

  • Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts

  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation

  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field; CPA preferred

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in real estate accounting or a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and real estate accounting standards

  • Proficiency in real estate software and financial systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage) is highly desirable

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights

  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with cross-functional teams and external partners

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
