Reporting to the Director or designee, assists in installation, testing and maintenance of simulation and other equipment pertaining to the inter-professional Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation, iCELS. Performs technical assistance for iCELS users. Assists with all aspects of running a simulation including recording scenarios, equipment setup and clean up. Provides after-hours coverage as needed.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepares skills lab and simulated learning activities in coordination with the simulation technician and faculty
Provide resources in the skills and simulation lab for mastery of psychomotor and clinical reasoning skills.
Assist in developing and implementing clinically based scenarios for simulation.
Implements and runs simulation exercises using low, mid and high-fidelity human patient simulators.
Assist faculty in planning and implementing simulation activities.
Maintain a clean, fully equipped simulation lab.
Manage the room set-up and clean-up for demonstration of clinical procedures and practice.
Maintain lab and simulation equipment, to include upkeep and maintenance schedules.
Collaborate on ordering and maintaining inventory of all lab supplies and equipment.
Work collaboratively with all faculty in scheduling the skills and simulation lab.
Assist with iCELS approved special events.
Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with medical terminology and equipment
Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment
Able to travel to offsite locations as needed
Able to provide technical support after hours and/or on weekends as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Clinically relevant experience in a health care setting (e.g. allied health roles)
