We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.






Job Summary:

Assist with medical massage therapy skills training in the lab. Oversee medical massage skills exams performed by students. Assist students in practical and clinical skills as outlined in the curriculum.




Required Qualifications:



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Mentor and train medical massage students.

  • Assist students with medical massage processes, techniques, and procedures.

  • Demonstrate medical massage processes, techniques, and procedures.

  • Assure each lab has the proper amount of materials or equipment for each student and maintain a safe lab environment.

  • Maintain time and evaluation forms for medical massage students and evaluate and provide constructive feedback to them.

  • Provide a positive environment for students to be actively engaged in their learning environment.

  • Assist the program in developing and updating curriculum and competencies as needed. Maintain student and client confidentiality.

  • Assist in establishing new industry relationships and maintaining current relationships during the clinical internship.

  • Knowledge of medical massage equipment

  • Knowledge of medical massage therapy protocols

  • Knowledge of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation standards in massage therapy education

  • Computer skills

  • Ability to deliver instructional presentations

  • Ability to interact in a fair and courteous manner with a variety of individuals

  • Ability to prepare supplies and equipment before class/lab

  • Ability to provide student feedback




Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort


Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Frequent physical effort required.



Required

High School Diploma or general equivalence diploma (GED) and two (2) years experience as a massage therapist.




Preferred


Transcript from an accredited college or university showing successful completion of at least twelve (12) semester hours.


Licenses and Certifications

Active Massage Therapist License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.


Active Massage Therapy Instructor License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.


Certifications must be attached to application.
