The Service Technician will focus on ensuring the optimal performance of installed systems through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation on installation and troubleshooting of physical security systems (Access, Video and Intrusion), basic network systems knowledge, exceptional problem-solving abilities and ability to communicate technical solutions in both written and verbal effectively.
Essential Functions
Observe and maintain cleanliness, safety rules, best practices and professionalism when working on customer's premises
Install, configure and maintain physical security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and some network appliances as needed
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on security systems to ensure optimal functionality
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers to resolve issues with installed systems
Provide written and verbal status updates to supervisors on services and tasks performed
Collaborate with customers to explain system features and to address any concerns on their system operation
Work closely with the service team and project team to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer issues
Complete service orders, repair documentation, and work logs accurately and efficiently
Follow company safety protocols and industry regulations during installations and repairs
Travel to customer sites as required, including after-hours or weekend work for emergency service
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Minimum Qualifications
2 years in physical security systems and hands-on experience with Avigilon, AVA, Genetec, Verkada, OpenPath or Lenel
Ability to lift over 50 pounds and work comfortably on ladders and lifts
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service
Proficient with basic hand and power tools, and knowledgeable in electrical circuitry and blueprint reading
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in security and IT are highly desirable
Current and valid US driver's license

Must be professional and polished in appearance and be comfortable speaking to customers
(Preferred) Manufacturer specific certifications: Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec, Milestone, Lenel and others
(Preferred) Knowledgeable on Cloud Solutions, Network Switches and Communication Systems
(Preferred) Understanding of server, storage, and networking architecture
Physical Demands Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds.
Work Environment May require driving to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker is subject to frequent heavy lifting.
