TMS - Manager Carrier Integration

Position overview

This role will be responsible for managing the integration with our visibility provider for tender and tracking connectivity.

This role will be a critical component of the TMS functionality and will play a vital role in enabling the overall solution/execution.

In this role, you will look to identify the best option/s for each carrier for the various functions within the TMS, supporting operational execution and tracking. As well as being accountable for ensuring that the integration and visibility support the TMS & overall business needs.n this role, you will be responsible for the Carrier setup, along with maintaining and managing both the rates, and the route maintenance within the TMS. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing the integration with our visibility provider for tender and tracking connectivity.
This role will be a critical component of the TMS functionality and will play a vital role in enabling the overall solution/execution. Also, ensuring that information from new contracts, change orders, and amendments is accurately reflected within the TMS, providing insights to other transportation teams.
In this role, you will look to identify the best option/s for each carrier for the various functions within the TMS, supporting rating, operational execution and tracking. As well as being accountable for ensuring that the right Tariff Master Data and Tariff Configuration Data Elements are managed within the TMS accurately.
As an additional responsibility, this role will also support the Procurement team during RFPS, which could include data collection, rating exercises to support negotiations, and/or analysis of bid completeness. This role will be responsible for managing team members in multiple regions. (Americas, EMEA, APAC & GC)

A Day in the Life


  • Initial Standup & Deployment of all Carrier Connectivity

  • Initial Standup of all route and rate maintenance, including ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Manage and maintain strategy by carrier for collaboration & connectivity, including trouble shooting and problem solving where solutions need to be enhanced

  • Collaborative Contract Lifecycle Management within TMS: In partnership with Indirect Supply Management, regional teams and LCC/Planner day to day execution.

  • Supports Budget Management and Carrier Alignment by accurately aligning system rate / route load and performing testing as needed to ensure accuracy and alignment.

  • Provide FP&A Support

  • Compliance and Procedures: Work alongside carrier performance team to ensure compliance to contract, develop procedures, and maintain accurate records.

  • Systematic Updates: Maintain precise and updated contract records within the systems, enhancing accessibility and accuracy of information.

  • Pricing Guidance and Contract Support: Provide pricing guidance, contract support, and facilitate setups.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate for operational excellence with cross-functional teams.

  • Identifies carriers ability to connect

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3 years of experience

Nice to Have:


  • Minimum of 2-3+ years' experience in a Logistics - Transportation role

  • Knowledge of transportation operations and freight tendering / tracking processes.

  • Knowledge of various modes within the Transportation Industry and their pricing nuances

  • TMS knowledge.

  • Data analytics skills.

  • Hands-on mentality

  • Self-starter with strong aptitude to think critically, solve problems, and drive improvements in a professional and respectful manner.

  • Ability to work within a team and cross-functionally, building relationships, influence and collaborate with peers.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$123,200.00 - $184,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
