A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
We are currently seekinga QA Manager for our laboratory located in El Dorado Hills, CA.
The QA Manager manages the facility's Quality Management System including accreditation standard compliance, gaining and retaining accreditations, and document control. This position serves as Quality Manager and is the focal point for QA/QC. This position functions independently from technical operations, having responsibility for quality assurance oversight independent of production and financial responsibility. He/She/They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that maintains quality for the laboratory and develops operational efficiencies.
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Leading the laboratory's QA/QC and data quality improvement activities
Ensuring that laboratory accreditations are maintained and expanded as needed
Scheduling, ordering, evaluating, and reporting Proficiency Testing samples, and leading development of effective corrective actions for any failures
Ensuring SOP's are well written, organized, compliant to accreditation standards
Ensuring that personnel training (demonstration of capability) is completed and documented
Detecting, documenting, monitoring, resolving, and closing non-conformance and corrective action reports
Implementing and improving the QA program and the QA Manual
Developing and providing QA/QC program training for lab staff
Documenting validation of new test & measurement services
Performing and documenting internal audits and data assessments
Hosting and leading external audits by accreditation bodies and clients; responding to any deficiencies
Organizing, maintaining & completing standard reporting requirements (NELAP, etc.)
Proactively ensuring compliance to ethics program
Promoting a culture of responsiveness, correctness, accuracy, and completeness
Managing QA Associates
Comply with Enthalpy's Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelors' degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications.
Meet the minimum requirements of the facility's accrediting bodies
Personnel supervisor experience required
Six years of experience as Group Leader, Project Manager or previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years') or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Working knowledge of industry regulations, USEPA, NELAP, 40CFR, DoD/DoE or other regulated environments
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Expert with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and understand framework
