A DAY IN THE LIFE



As a key member of the field team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:



Leading:



  • the field engineering that supports the oversights, operation and management of ECT2's design and systems;

  • a dynamic team of operators and field technicians traveling to the site to support the field engineering and operations efforts;

  • the preparation of the onsite team weekly and daily for the tasks that need to be executed to stay on track with the project schedule;

  • the commissioning and start-up of all new systems, focused on the technical and project specifications;

  • the inspection of equipment delivered to the site, and document issues carefully and thoroughly. Follow up with suppliers to remedy issues related to procured equipment;

  • the scheduling and coordination with the customer and other on site contractors to manage normal operations.

  • Daily reports to the client and ECT2 Project team for site status and progress.

  • Accurate and timely reporting for onsite conditions and tasks are completed; process and site condition changes, treatment completed, treatment schedule forecasting.

  • Onsite Safety compliance and adherence for the ECT2 team and associated sub-contractors supporting the ECT2 site. Development of additional safety literature as applicable, Job Hazard Analysis, Management of Change reviews, Health and Safety plan amendments.


Organizing & supporting:



  • development and management of on-site staffing schedules

  • the review and development of drawing packages, documents, and equipment included in the project;

  • the effort to supply copies of inspection, test, and system operations reports;

  • project team meetings by providing pertinent updates on ECT2 progress;

  • detailed operational planning to support site 24/7 operations.


Developing:



  • Additional technologies and strategies on site to improve system operation.

  • relationships with stakeholders onsite, including vendors, client operations staff, and the ECT2 team.


NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS



To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or chemical Engineering or equivalent industry experience/certifications considered

  • 6+ years of commissioning and start-up experience of large capital projects in the environmental, construction, oil & gas, chemical, or power industries preferred

  • Familiarity with industrial piping systems, water treatment equipment, or distillation equipment is preferred

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases, Microsoft Office software, Google apps, etc.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and technical communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience taking responsibility for high level tasks and driving all sub tasks to rapid conclusion with autonomy.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Initial job placement at a facility in Santa Clarita, CA. Estimated travel of 50-80% after the Santa Clarita project is complete.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES



  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee may be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, and is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.

  • When in the field, this role may require:

    • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.

    • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight or confined spaces.

    • Working in low or high temperatures, depending on work site location

    • Performing light to medium work, including moving objects between 20-50 pounds
