Role reports to: EHS Manager
Location: Lititz, PA
Travel %: 10%
What you will do
The EHS Specialist responsible for supporting Lititz EHS programs you will have the opportunity to partner with other site colleagues in the shared pursuit of ensuring our people go home safe and that we achieve our goals to protect the environment!
Key responsibilities
• Perform Industrial Hygiene monitoring, analyze results and issue industrial hygiene reports
• Manage site industrial hygiene plans including exposure monitoring/modeling, containment testing, and hearing conservation needs
• Manage site respirator protection program and chemical safety program
• Ensure Industrial Hygiene considerations are incorporated into relevant capital and site minor works projects
• Implement environmental, health and safety policies and programs developed for a site to assure that workplace conditions comply with all local government and company requirements.
• Ensure Industrial Hygiene risks to the business are effectively identified and managed by the provision of industry leading technical innovation and support
• Coordinates and facilitates process safety management through leading the site's Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)/HAZOPs programs in order to identify, evaluate and control potential hazards within processes including hazard identification, risk assessments, mitigation planning and project implementation, development of procedures, compliance auditing and compliance reporting.
• Facilitates the completion of process hazard identification and risk assessments to develop risk management strategies for the facility by identifying potential or actual adverse process safety hazards.
• Ensures that an annual program of PHAs are compiled and adhered to which includes the close out of actions related to PSM and the completion of annual site internal audits
• Ensures Management of Change procedures are followed to minimize risk and communicate improvements effectively.
• Reviews relevant MOCs for PSM related items. Ensure PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) are completed for Management of Change (MOCs).
• Conduct site assurance (self-assessment) and reviews in the identification and correction of EHS issues consistent with regulatory and Kenvue requirements.
• Facilitates compliance audits by assisting management in conducting risk assessments.
• Reviews operating and maintenance procedures for compliance with environmental, health and safety programs and policies.
• Participates in environmental, health and safety reviews, routine environmental and safety inspections, and incident investigations where applicable with manufacturing and maintenance personnel including developing and implementing.
• Participates as the environmental, health and safety representative in external audits and inspections by local government agencies.
• Monitor the progress of management action plans, providing leadership, technical support and professional expertise to ensure corporate, business franchise and site goals are met; assure all records are properly maintained and reports are prepared/submitted in a timely manner.
• Assist in development of site environmental sustainability goals and achievement of environmental stewardship programs and certification.
• Engage business leaders to review EHS performance, compliance and issues.
• Cultivates an atmosphere of willingness and information sharing to encourage a culture of high awareness, transparency and diligence with respect to EHS policies, concerns and commitments.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
• 4 years of EHS experience is required
• Strong leader who builds trust to achieve desired results is required
• Knowledge of state and federal EHS regulations and an ability to quickly interpret regulatory issues and provide a recommended course of action is required
Preferred Qualifications
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in science, engineering or other technical field is preferred
• Experience in identifying, evaluating and controlling EHS risks in the workplace is preferred
• Experience with EHS in manufacturing is preferred
• Experience in an FDA/GMP environment is preferred
• Certifications such as PE, CIH, CSP is preferred
