System Administrator




Littleton / Waterton, CO




Contract Position




$90.00/ Hourly



This role is supporting the space systems division of one of our longest partners in our 28 years of staffing in Aerospace and Defense. This program builds satellites and spacecraft that do amazing things in space for government and commercial customers. You will be working with a team whose satellites give earlier warning of severe weather, connect troops on the battlefield, and deliver GPS directions to a billion people worldwide. Responsibilities:

• 
  Provide primary IT support for several classified environments using system administration and architecture skills.


• Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, security patches, and software applications.


• 
  Manage system security: Perform security audits, manage security groups, and install firmware updates.


• Coordinate hardware repairs and monitor data backups.


• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues, creating scripts to automate administrative tasks.


• Work with Operating System life cycle management, including installation, upgrades, system imaging, and performance monitoring.


• Provide solutions for technical problems of moderate scope, often requiring in-depth research and investigation.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience.


• 
  Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly is required.


• 
  Certification: Must have CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8572 certification.


• 
  Experience:
  
  
  
  • Expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange Server management.
  
  
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Servers and virtualization tools (VMWare or Hyper-V).
  
  
  
  


• 
  Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required.


• 
  Desired Qualifications:
  
  
  
  • Knowledge of HP BladeSystem management.
  
  
  • Experience with System Center Products (e.g., End Point Configuration Manager, Service Manager, Operations Manager, Orchestrator).
  
  
  • Knowledge of Linux authentication with Active Directory and storage services (NetApp/EMC).
  
  
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Perl, Bash, etc.).
  
  
  • Understanding of NISPOM, RMF, and STIG requirements.
  
  
  • Experience in vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security management tools (e.g., Nessus, McAfee, Splunk).
  
  
  • IT certifications (MCSE, VMWare, Network+).
