Structures Mechanic II- C
Merritt Island, FL
Contract Position
Responsibilities:
Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First and Second Stage structures while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
Set up production work areas, including tooling and equipment, and assist in transitioning from development to production.
Conduct hardware inspections and second-party verifications of engineering models, drawings, and procedures.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions through modification, rework, and repair while implementing corrective actions.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, aerial lifts, and other ground support tools.
Utilize precision tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and laser trackers.
Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance safety and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to uphold 5S, FOD, and ESD standards.
Support production schedules by working off-shift, extended hours, and weekends as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5-10 years in aerospace manufacturing and aerospace structures (sheet metal).
Skills:
Proficiency in drilling aluminum, composite, and titanium structures.
Expertise in heavy or secondary structures drilling.
Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
Basic digital literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office).
Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders, work in restricted spaces, perform repetitive tasks, and lift items up to 35 lbs.
Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications:
Industry certification, trade school training, or Airframe License.
Experience leading technical teams, handling large aerospace components, and assembling tight-tolerance structures.
Familiarity with new product introduction and Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environments.
Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
Military experience.
