What does a Respiratory Therapist do?
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities, which effect on the pulmonary system
Essential Duties:
Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in our established
policies and procedures.
Adheres to established policies and procedures of the facility to which the respiratory care practitioner is assigned.
Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs.
Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition.
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from healthcare members and documents actual and/or potential diagnoses. patient care outcome standard. A care practitioner is assigned.
In services, the nurse is primarily responsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and before leaving the facility departments within the facility.
Violations of such disclosure to the Administrator of this position. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
Requirements:
Plans for outcomes of care for those patients assigned.
Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and
Adheres to emergency, safety and infection control procedures of the facility to which the respiratory
Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications.
Reports changes in the patient's respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other
Agree not to disclose resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known
Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of performing the assigned duties
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential.
Must possess, as a minimum, an Associate Degree from an
accredited school.
Must be a Graduate of a respiratory care program.
Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in a skilled nursing, acute and/or subacute unit preferred.
