Job Description:

Safe Harbor Dauntless is looking for a candidate who will lead the hauling crew by working in partnership with our service department in order to haul/launch vessels according to our service schedule. The ideal candidate for this role has experience handling mobile boat hoists and hydraulic trailers.


 


The Yard Manager is responsible for managing tasks required to successfully achieve the service department objectives. This role may also be referred to as Foreman (Yard Hand).


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 



  • Manage the hauling, blocking and launching boats

  • Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: waxing, bottom painting and zinc replacement

  • Work closely with the General Manager and assist fellow crewmembers as needed

  • Operate yard machinery including 

  • Grounds maintenance and marina cleanliness

  • Availability to work overtime when required

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor


 


Safety and Environmental Responsibilities



  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training

  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area

  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately


 


Technical and Physical Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience preferred

  • Heavy forklift experience and certification

  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Ability to work in confined spaces

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Basic boat handling skills preferred

  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license
