In this role, you will:
  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within business and contribute to large-scale, cross-functional planning related to mitigation of current and emerging business risk issues and concerns
  • Assess, analyze, and design moderately complex controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring
  • Independently make decisions and resolve moderately complex issues while leveraging solid understanding of the business's functional area or products, operations, and regulatory environment; facilitate decision-making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans; lead peers and key business partners to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to address current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance or support in interpreting, developing, and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
  • Partner with peers and the business in interactions with external parties to support appropriateness and timeliness of response, and effectiveness of communications and materials
  • May serve as a mentor for lower-level staff
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • A BS/BA degree (Business or Finance) or higher or equivalent
  • Experience working knowledge of Wealth and Investment Management businesses, their products, and relevant risks and controls.
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts and policies across risk types (regulatory, financial crimes, credit, operational, etc.)
  • Experience managing projects relating to the development of mitigating risk strategies, supervisory controls, and/or operational processes.
  • Risk management experience with mitigating risk, issue management, and exam management.
  • Experience working with and presenting issues, findings and concerns to senior leadership, committees and risk partners.
  • Demonstrated capability to confidently raise issues, escalate early, and engage in constructive credible challenge independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships with senior leaders and risk partners.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with all organizational levels
  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
  • Ability to provide expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with high and critical risks
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to renegotiate deliverables to meet changing project production deadlines.
  • FINRA registration including Series 9/10 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
Job Expectations:
  • This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Manages internal exams for all Supervision and Branch Control groups to ensure exam scope is appropriate, appropriate responses, and monitor for potential findings. Monitors the successful and required completion of various compliance and risk initiatives or tasks by branch and divisional team members. Review and identify risks in the region, ensure that risks are appropriately addressed and promote an effective control environment in markets, complexes, and branches. Upon request, ensures controls are effective and being executed as designed.
