SUMMARY:
The Area Manager Injection Molding will oversee and run the injection molding of multiple production lines for various customers. Will identify / eliminate non-value-added activities / events, including waste and delays. Deliver products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations and levels of satisfaction. Goal is to provide an uptick in product quality, faster time-to-market, and improved profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that a current state value stream map is created of the end-to-end value stream(s). Clearly define key system constraints and critical process issues.
Utilize the input of employees & other functional areas to prepare & lead the execution an ideal state map showing what the value stream could look like in the long term; use lean techniques to eliminate waste and improve process value in the short to mid-term.
Lead and mobilize people inside and outside of the value stream to enable the required changes (including customers and suppliers).
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and effectively manage all operational aspects to ensure profitable performance & achievement.
Lead the day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
Cultivate & maintain strong relationships with employees, customers and suppliers.
Analyze key issues affecting the equipment and take corrective actions.
Ensure appropriate problem escalations are communicated to management.
Active involvement with ensuring Continuous Improvement (CI) ideas are identified & executed.
Provide robust support for MOPs, PDP & trials, PFEP initiatives & budget development.
Ensure all employees in the value stream are fully competent in their role.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Management or related field from an accredited four-year college or university is strongly preferred.
Minimum 10 to 15 years of manufacturing experience is required, preferably in an automotive supplier environment.
Prior experience successfully implementing lean principles in a manufacturing environment, including creating and executing a value stream plan that encompasses a future state is preferred.
Prior project management experience is necessary to be successful in this role.
Must be able to step back and view the value stream from a broad perspective& understand key system constraints and be able to quickly spot critical process issues.
Exemplary leadership abilities are required, including the ability to drive change & motivate individuals in the value stream.
Must demonstrate an openness to ideas from employees for improvement and understand the working culture within the value stream.
