Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, this position is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of state, federal and institutional financial aid programs in accordance with both statutory regulations and institutional policies. The Office of Financial Aid has significant impact on the image, recruitment, and retention imperatives of the University. As such the Director possesses an in-depth knowledge of higher education and extensive understanding of the strategic importance of the role financial aid plays in enrollment management. The director is an expert on state and national financial aid programs, policies, and issues.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in a Financial Aid Office; with a minimum of 3 years at the level of Director or above.

  • Comprehensive understanding of and commitment to compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.

  • Experience with the overall administration of federal, state, and institutional aid programs.

  • Experience with the awarding of scholarships and financial aid packaging.

  • Ability to implement financial aid policies, procedures, and initiatives in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work with other university units to assist in the enrollment and retention of students.

  • Leadership, planning, managerial, supervisory, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to form strong coalitions with internal and external constituencies.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to be detail oriented.

  • Ability to recognize departmental priorities and work cooperatively to support their accomplishment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Preferred Qualifications



    • Master's degree

    • Experience with Banner.

    • Experience working in a union environment.

    The starting salary range for this position is $95,000.00-100,000.00.
