Surgery Scheduler-Hematology oncology at Nemours in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Description:

This position is responsible for: Coordinates with internal and external operating rooms, ASC, etc to ensure the patients are appropriately scheduled for surgeries and/or outpatient procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinates the clinic and surgery schedules for the providers to ensure there are no conflicts
• Coordinates surgery schedule with internal and external operating rooms
• Submits surgical clearances for the purpose of patient scheduling into the OR
• Submits all information to the pre-certification team to ensure the insurance will cover the surgical costs
• Acts as the family's liaison between the surgical centers and provider staff to ensure all education, authorizations and post op appointments are taken care of
• Schedules outpatient ancillary procedures and testing for families
• Must have the ability to work well with others.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Good communications skills are required.

High School Diploma

BLS certification from American Heart Association

Medical terminology preferred

6 months to 1 year of job related experience

Previous surgery scheduling experience preferred
