Role

Responsible for supporting activities related to commercial loan participations and single-family correspondent, secondary market lending and mortgage lending. Works with lead banks, correspondent lenders and retail loan management in the origination, purchase and servicing of commercial and mortgage loans. Also supports the sale of participation and retail mortgage loans. Provide excellent customer service in response to requests for information and resolving issues on purchased and sold loans.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Responsible for supporting activities related to commercial loan participations and single-family correspondent and secondary market lending. Works with lead banks and correspondent lenders in the origination, purchase and servicing of commercial and mortgage loans. Also supports the sale of participation and retail mortgage loans. Provide excellent customer service in response to requests for information and resolving issues on purchased and sold loans.

  • Use loan software to process loan requests, including entering accurate details for the transaction into the software. Requesting and archiving supporting documents including borrower financials, income verifications, insurance, closing documents, flood declarations title policy, environmental reviews and appraisal. Updating workflows to accurately reflect the transaction's current status.

  • Accurately post monetary transactions for loan payments, advances and loan funding.

  • Prepare, process and organize commercial loans and retail mortgage loans for the sale of the loan to other banks or entities.

  • Research, prepare and distribute management reports such as rate surveys, production/pipeline and other reports as requested.

  • Accurately process, publish and distribute retail and correspondent interest rate changes as directed by the Chief Lending Officer.

  • Submit/track/monitor payment of department invoices.

  • Monitor daily internet loan applications and loan customer inquiries and refer to appropriate loan originator.

  • Analyze data and information by identifying the underlying fundamentals and objectives using logic and reasoning.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Actively participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Knowledge & Skills
Experience
• Banking, lending or related experience is required.

Education/Certifications/Licenses
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills
Must possess strong attention to detail; be able to work quickly and efficiently on multiple tasks; possess working knowledge of Word, Excel, and general computer skills; possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently within a team. Must be able to organize, plan, and set priorities with minimal supervision.

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with other banking relationships, including matters that are sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, scanner, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.

Regular in-office attendance required.

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to complete complex mathematical calculations and spell accurately. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters
