Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:

The Enrollment Division includes the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid, the Office of the University Registrar, and the Carolina College Advising Corps. Position Summary:

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a collaborative professional to serve as a Manager and Senior Analyst for Scholarships and Student Aid. Reporting to the IT Director for Enrollment Systems, this information technology specialist will provide systems design, development, and leadership to advance the mission of the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid, which is responsible for overseeing and disbursing aid for the University's undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. This includes administering $500 million in aid annually to over 30,000 students.


This Senior Analyst will collaborate with leadership, staff, and other internal and external partners to define guidelines and strategies in accordance with federal, state, and University regulations. The position will define requirements and design, configure, develop, test, implement, and support technology solutions and business processes that improve or streamline service to students, staff, and faculty. Technology solutions include, but are not limited to, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Technolutions Slate.


Additionally, the position will supervise and provide leadership to a team of financial aid analysts, supporting an organizational culture in which all members care for students and colleagues, welcome diverse perspectives and experiences, and challenge each other to grow professionally.


The successful candidate will demonstrate an outstanding ability to:


* Lead, organize, and listen to colleagues, including direct reports and others in Enrollment and other campus offices
* Think strategically, critically, creatively, and proactively
* Support the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid's leadership team in decision-making and in implementing financial aid strategies and policies through complex equations, as well as automated processes using Federal and Institutional methodologies.
* Serve as a technical advisor and liaison to peer managers, senior leadership, and others.
* Work beyond the traditional 40-hour week may be required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Masters' and 2-4 years' experience; or Bachelors and 3-5 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.


Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

* At least three to five years of progressive technical experience in financial aid systems.
* At least two years of experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
* Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft Equation Engine for determining financial aid awards.
* Strong ERP Query tools, SQL, and relational database knowledge.
* Proven decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* At least one year of experience leading a financial aid project team.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

* Experience with data analysis, reporting, and understanding of user-centered design foundations are strongly desired.
* Experience with Technolutions Slate or a similar CRM is desired
* Experience with SAS or Tableau is desired.
* At least one year of direct supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
