Position Summary

The Project Manager's first responsibility will be to work with the PRCI Director to manage various administrative aspects of the program. This will include organizing major global and regional events, assisting in work planning, and assisting in annual and semi-annual reporting, including collection, organization, and reporting of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) indicators. Additionally, the Project Manager will, based on assessment of workload on PRCI and needs elsewhere, be asked to carry out similar tasks for other FSG projects, working closely with the Principal Investigators of those other projects.


The Project Manager (PM) (1.0 FTE) will report directly to the two FSG co-directors and will be responsible for coordination of activities and communications with collaborators across MSU and partner institutions. Working with the FSG co-directors and PIs of particular projects, the PM will provide oversight of technical and administrative aspects of the program. This includes the following:
1) Serve as a point of contact for collaborators and partners as it pertains to program implementation and technical aspects of the program;
2) Manage workplan development on PRCI and, as agreed with FSG leadership, other FSG projects, in coordination with project collaborators and partners;
3) Coordinate with all involved MSU faculty (in charge of different components or aspects of the program) and in-country partners to ensure that their deliverables and contributions to project reports and MEL indicators are done on time
4) Work with the FSG business office and co-directors to ensure that the FSG Handbook is regularly updated as needed on operational procedures and serves as a go-to resource for new staff and PIs on administrative matters
5) Collate necessary information for (and draft) project reporting deliverables, and periodic updates required by the donor for review by the FSG co-directors and relevant PI

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Management or field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more expansive work experience in project management, business analysis, facilitating/training with a focus on business management; workflow process analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* A self-starter with an outgoing personality that will represent the team in a positive manner; a team player who can work independently as well as in a fast-paced team environment, make sound decisions and prioritize tasks effectively; attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Willingness and ability to travel overseas
