JOB SUMMARY
The Production Scheduler analyzes, plans, and schedules production requirements to meet customer demand and inventory levels while balancing plant capacity. This role utilizes forecast data in Dubois Chemicals' D365 based ERP system utilizing the material resource planning module to drive requirements for planning production and interacts with the plant manager, leads and supervisor to organize the daily production schedule based on the plant's current capacity and limitations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review demand/forecast data across all warehouses using MRP and excel spreadsheets to understand the Bedford Park specific production requirements needed to satisfy demand across the business
Releases production in D365 ERP system by triggering planned production and planned batch orders and modify them to the kettle constraints (min/max batch based on size and configuration)
Liaison between production, sales, and customer service to provide feedback to the commercial teams on the expected production schedule and/or modify the schedule to meet urgent/expedited customer needs
Maintain the kettle compatibility matrix/size and modify as needed to have a master reference sheet of kettle capabilities and capacities to support the scheduling process.
Monitor the production batch output and adjust schedules as needed through communication with the plant manager, lead blender and supervisor.
Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks, including providing feedback to the planning team on min/max forecast parameters for finished goods and raw materials as they are identified to continue to modify item coverage parameters to improve delivery.
Communicate schedule changes and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders
Maintain active communications with R&D and the product line management team to execute as needed temporary bill of material and permanent bill of material changes; uses this communication as a means to identify trouble raw materials that are tying up the production schedule to have temporary or permanent replacements evaluated to improve delivery and cost
Review forecast and demand data weekly to escalate opportunities to improve demand signals that would negatively impact or improve inventory, cost and delivery
Meet regularly with the raw material Procurement Supply Analyst to ensure the appropriate raw materials on the "short list" are getting the right level of escalation and prioritization
Review regularly R&D rework plans to ensure any rework, returns, and excess inventory get worked back into the manufacturing schedule in future batches
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ Years of experience in production scheduling / production planning
5+ Years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience in forecasting, planning, and inventory analytics/data
Strong skills and experience in developing and maintaining spreadsheets
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
Proven problem-solving skills
Experience with warehouse management software
Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics [AX & D365]
Experience operating in an ERP system, particularly in the MRP module (D365 preferred)
Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues
Effective communication skills and time management

EDUCATION REQUREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
