As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting scientific research and quality control within a dynamic laboratory setting. Your responsibilities will include analyzing samples, conducting microbiological tests, and ensuring compliance with CGMP standards.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Analyze data retrieved from plant process controls to establish consistency, accuracy, and quality.
Maintain awareness of plant operations and process conditions by conducting daily rounds of the plant, and be able to identify and communicate problems and suggestions.
Operation of lab equipment including HPLC, GC, refractometer, moisture analyzer, titrators, centrifuge, microscope, and other basic equipment.
Conduct lab testing in all aspects of operations such as gravity tests, ethanol proof, yeast viability, moisture analysis, water quality, and other tests as needed or requested.
Troubleshoot and maintain lab equipment as needed.
Communicate test results with operations staff to maintain optimal efficiency, safety, quality and quantity of products. Work with operations on special test requests.
Help track inventory of supplies and complete purchase orders as necessary.
Maintain and follow all health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations at the local, state and federal levels.
Other duties not listed herein but which need to be accomplished to maintain safe and timely day-to-day operations of the site.
Maintain high level of service and work performance, promote team environment and maintain pleasant work environment.
Minimum Requirements
Technical degree and/or certification in science related field with laboratory requirements.
Equivalent and relevant work experience may be substituted for certain education requirements. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
Expertise in making precise and accurate measurements.
Skills/Abilities Required
Work four 10 hour shifts per week, must be able to train on day shift
Work rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Detail oriented with strong communication, organizational, time-management and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and enter data accurately into records.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers, work with fractions, metric system, percentages, decimals and ability to convert units as required.
Attention to safety critical.
Must be willing to work overtime.
