JCW is partnered with a leading law firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join their tax team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a law firm setting, with a strong focus on tax planning and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a leading law firm, providing sophisticated tax advice to clients across a variety of industries. An LLM in Taxation is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive tax planning and advisory services on complex M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, and other tax matters.
Collaborate with clients to structure transactions that are tax-efficient while complying with relevant laws and regulations.
Conduct detailed legal research on federal, state, and international tax matters to support client needs.
Assist senior attorneys in drafting legal documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, and agreements.
Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on the implications of these changes for their businesses.
Build and maintain client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor on tax-related matters.
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school.
Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in a law firm setting, with a focus on tax planning and M&A.
LLM in Taxation preferred.
Strong knowledge of corporate tax, partnership tax, and federal and state tax laws.
Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
