Job Description:

My client are a a full service electrical contractor, offering a vast range of electrical services to Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and the D.C Metropolitan Area. RCD, inc. offers electrical design/build and technical consulting services reducing costs for industrial and commercial construction.

Job Summary
  • The Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects within the food and beverage industry. This role will require strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to closeout.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure timely completion.
  • Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

Electrical Engineering:
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, ATEX).
  • Design and oversee the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Select and procure appropriate electrical equipment and materials.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering and construction teams.

Procurement and Contract Management:
  • Manage procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

Quality Control and Safety:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specified requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training.

Budget Management:
  • Monitor project budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage change orders and variations.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and forecasts.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and codes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).

Desired Skills
  • Experience with hazardous area installations (e.g., ATEX, NEC Class 1 Div 2).
  • Knowledge of food and beverage industry-specific regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP).
  • Experience with commissioning and validation of electrical systems.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP).
