JOB DESCRIPTION • Work closely with the process design teams to develop process control narratives and process and instrumentation diagrams to ensure that process systems will operate safely and reliably. • Create and maintain I/O lists and lead the selection of process critical instrumentation • Develop control system architecture for greenfield chemical processing facilities and manage project execution, leveraging a combination of in-house and 3rd party resources. • Develop plant-wide supervisory systems to minimize unplanned downtime and centralize plant performance monitoring. • Support operations teams as needed to achieve productivity and material quality targets on pilot and commercial scale systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems. • 3+ years as a process controls engineer in a chemical process design or production environment • Demonstrated experience in the execution of controls projects from concept development through commissioning and ramp-up • Demonstrated experience supporting a running production facility • Experience building process & instrumentation diagrams, developing process control narratives, and building I/O lists for greenfield or brownfield capital projects, and working closely with process engineers to design and implement control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of complex chemical process systems. • Experience participating in process hazard reviews and HazOps. • Expert-level knowledge of DeltaV or Siemens PLC
